SQL Server Service Broker for the .NET Programmer

This will be a short discussion and overview of the SQL Server Service Broker (SSB) with an emphasis on what it can do and how to set it up.

With the ability to do asynchronous, reliable, in order delivery of messages up to 2GB in size within a single database or across multiple servers and databases, SSB provides much potential. To help take advantage of this potential all the required elements will be demonstrated with examples of their creation, usage and management.

Two usage scenarios will be explored:

·         An event logging service

·         An asynchronous cross-platform messaging service
